Stone Island AW26 Badges: Why the New Season Badge Looks Different (But Is Still Real)
Share
If you've picked up something from the new season and thought the badge looked off, you're not the only one. The Stone Island AW26 badges look and feel noticeably different from the badges we've handled for years, and a lot of people are assuming they're fake. From what we've seen, they're authentic. The quality just isn't what it used to be.

What's different about the AW26 badge?
Put an AW26 badge next to one from roughly 2010 to 2025 and the difference is obvious:
- Fuzzier base. The black backing is a thick, felt-like material with loose fibres, where older badges have a cleaner, tighter finish.
- Less crisp embroidery. The compass, the ring and the STONE ISLAND lettering look softer and less sharp, and the stitching isn't as tight.
- Shade variation. The yellow and green threads vary more from badge to badge than we're used to seeing.
- Overall feel. It simply feels cheaper in the hand than the badges from the last fifteen years.

So are AW26 Stone Island badges fake?
No. These badges are authentic. The drop in quality is down to the new season, not a fake. The problem is that they now share some of the traits people have learned to look for on fakes, so they get called out a lot, especially on resale apps.
That's why a badge on its own should never be the only thing you judge a piece on. Look at the whole garment: the labels, the ART number, the stitching, the buttons and the fabric. Our guide to Stone Island ART numbers by era shows what real tags look like, including the 2026 ones.
A note on these badges
We don't have any of these badges for sale, and we're not planning to stock them. We also won't be putting them on any of the clothing we sell. Even though they're real, too many buyers would assume they're fake, and we'd rather not leave any doubt.
